Multi Stage Paint Correction FROM £1000+VAT

Multi stage paint correction is a process used to restore and enhance the appearance of a vehicle’s paintwork. It involves multiple steps and techniques to remove imperfections, such as swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, and orange peel.

The process includes the following stages:

1. Inspection: The paintwork is thoroughly inspected to identify any imperfections and determine the level of correction required.

2. Washing and Decontamination: The vehicle is washed to remove any dirt, grime, and contaminants from the surface. Decontamination may also be done using clay bars or iron fallout removers to remove embedded contaminants.

3. Paint Thickness Measurement: A paint thickness gauge is used to measure the thickness of the paint layers. This helps determine the amount of correction that can be done without causing damage.

4. Compounding: Compounds or abrasive polishes are used to remove deeper scratches, swirl marks, and other imperfections. Different levels of abrasiveness may be used depending on the severity of the imperfections.

5. Polishing: Finer polishes are used to refine the paintwork and remove any remaining swirl marks or hazing caused by the compounding stage. This stage helps to restore gloss and clarity to the paintwork.

6. Finishing: A final polish stage is done to further enhance the gloss and smoothness of the paintwork. This stage also helps to remove any fine scratches or imperfections left behind from the previous stages.

7. Protection: After the paint correction process, a protective layer, such as a sealant, wax or ceramic coating is applied to the paintwork to provide long-lasting protection and shine.
